Democracy kinda sorta

Democracy kinda sorta

So I filled out my absentee ballot for the NY primary on 9/13. NY has a really complicated system where there are two different primary dates and then the general election in November, and there isn’t a lot of information out there unless you’re really into this stuff and do some digging.

I’m pretty into this stuff, and half the time there’s stuff on the ballot where I just can’t find much about the candidates or even what the position is responsible for, and it bums me out that that’s a deliberate thing in my district, city, state, and country. I’ll write more about that and politics and government another day, but right now I seriously have to pack.

I’m with Cynthia Nixon for Governor, Jumaane Williams for Lieutenant Governor, Zephyr Teachout for Attorney General, Julia Salazar for State Senate, Maritza Davila for State Committee and Assembly member, and I left the civil court judge box blank. I know it’s important, but I was unable to make an informed decision.

I must pack now.
