If there's no accompanying text to the link, at the risk of sounding redundant, it's a site that interests me. It could also mean I just haven't gotten around to writing it yet or I think the link itself is self-described.

Jaron Lanier Lanier is a computer scientist and one of the pioneers of Virtual Reality. If my political views about technology and economics are pretty aligned with Tim Wu and Cory Doctorow, my spiritual ones are pretty aligned with Lanier.
Waxy Andy Baio’s site.
The Electric Typewriter I don’t know who put this together, but it’s a regularly updated directory of fantastic essays and articles from a variety of places. For instance, it’s how I discovered the writings of Tim Harford!
Tim Harford Tim Harford is an economist and writer. Hartford is light on the jargon and is just informative and enjoyable to read. I would start with the essay The Problem With Facts
J. L. Yocum Poet, and old friend.
I think you’re either into poetry or you’re not and if you are, you won’t know if you like a poet or not unless you read them. Like, some people have favorite poets, I don’t. But every now and then I stumble something that moves me.
Michael Indemaio Also a poet and an old friend.
My feelings on poetry have not changed since the handful of sentences above this one.

Matt Melnick Matt from Disassociate and about 74 other bands. Matt wrote some cool stuff back in the livejournal days. I used to so look forward to getting home and sitting at the computer to see if I got any IMs, check my favorite message boards, and so on. I’d also have to check if there was anything new on Matt’s Livejournal.

Oh My Rockness Every now and then I’ll catch a great band somewhere and I’ll be like “Hey that was great, do you guys have a mailing list or a website or someplace where I stay updated about your shows on the open internet”? and they’ll be like “no, but we’re on that walled garden site that everybody is on, you can follow us on there” and I’ll be like “I’m not on there, and I don’t want to join that thing just to keep up with your band” and then they’ll tell me I should just be on there and I’ll be like that is the most unpunk uncreative lazy shit I think I’ve ever heard. Anyway, Oh My Rockness helps me keep up with what’s going on as far as shows go.
…and if you’re a creative and you feel attacked, you need a presence of your own on the world wide web that keeps people updated on what you’re up to and the site you’re reading right now is proof it isn’t hard to do.
Look, I’m the demographic you’re trying to reach and you are not reaching me. I am just trying to help and if… Ya know what? I’ve said way too much for a blurb and these thoughts are more appropriate for a dedicated blog entry if not a book so I’m gonna stop ranting now.
Daring Fireball John Gruber, the creator of markdown’s blog. Although these days Gruber might be more well known for Daring Fireball.
Charles Petzold Author of Code: The Hidden Language Of Computers. I don't know a lot about computers but this book helped explain a few things to me. Petzold’s blog is an enjoyable read too.
